The College
Founded in 2000 and named after Alessandro Volta as a tribute to the scientist whose bicentenary of the invention of the battery fell in the year of its founding, it is a public merit-based university college that houses students enrolled in all undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses at the University of Pavia.
It is one of the 11 colleges of the Entity for the Right to Study (EDiSU) of the University of Pavia.
It is located a short walk from the Cravino area, a settlement area for the scientific faculties of the University of Pavia.
“Il linguaggio dell’esperienza è più autorevole di tutti i ragionamenti: i fatti possono distruggere i nostri raziocini, non viceversa.”
Alessandro Volta,
1745-1827
